SRIBS Group Participated in the 2024 Shanghai International Urban and Architectural Expo
On October 31, the 2024 Shanghai International Urban and Architectural Expo opened at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center. This marks the tenth consecutive year that SRIBS (Shanghai Research Institute of Building Science) has participated, showcasing its advancements in urban construction, management, and operational technology. Zhu Lei, President of SRIBS, attended the event alongside other leaders.
This year’s expo, hosted by UN-Habitat and the Shanghai Housing and Urban-Rural Development Management Committee, is themed “Innovation Driving Green Development, New Quality Empowering the People’s City.” It highlights achievements in green, low-carbon transformation, intelligent building operations, and urban renewal.
SRIBS emphasizes green, low-carbon, safe, and resilient city solutions. The booth showcases collaborations, including an academician workstation with Chinese Academy of Sciences academician Li Jie, supporting sectors like urban and building health diagnostics. SRIBS also offers comprehensive consulting, inspection, and technical services for major Shanghai construction projects, focusing on green, low-carbon practices, and urban renewal to drive new productivity.
At the "Diagnosing Urban Safety, Revitalizing Urban Vitality" forum, Zhu Lei introduced SRIBS’s commitment to applying its latest scientific research to urban and rural construction across China. Through continuous service development, SRIBS is extending its focus from construction engineering to the maintenance of existing buildings, urban infrastructure, and environmental health.
During the expo, SRIBS also led the formation of the Urban Renewal Branch under the Shanghai Survey and Design Association, which issued a "City Renewal Co-Creation Alliance Initiative" in collaboration with other key organizations. Additionally, SRIBS’s Testing Company signed a memorandum of cooperation with Jinjiang Hotels, aiming to ensure safety, hygiene, and quality in urban hotel operations.
Throughout the event, SRIBS organized forums on low-carbon water use and green living, with Jiang Yan, SRIBS Vice President, addressing attendees.
