SRIBS Factory Recognized as a Shanghai “Zero-Carbon Factory”
Recently, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization issued a notice announcing the 2025 list of Zero-Carbon Enterprises (Parks). According to the announcement, the anti-fall safety device factory under Shanghai Research Institute of Building Sciences has been awarded the title of Shanghai “Zero-Carbon Factory.”
As a leading enterprise in the field of construction machinery safety, SRIBS was awarded the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) “Green Factory” title in January 2025. Its flagship product, the SAJ series safety devices, holds a globally leading market share in its niche segment. In recent years, SRIBS has also received multiple prestigious honors, including MIIT Specialized, Sophisticated, Distinctive and Innovative (Little Giant) Enterprise, Demonstration Enterprise for the Integrated Development of New-Generation Information Technology and Manufacturing, and one of Shanghai’s first Intelligent Factories, underscoring its widely recognized comprehensive strength.
To implement the dual-carbon strategy, SRIBS has systematically advanced green and low-carbon development. By building a digital-twin–enabled intelligent manufacturing factory, it has established a full life-cycle digital management system. SRIBS has also developed flexible automated production lines and intelligent assembly and inspection lines to improve material utilization efficiency.
At the same time, it has carried out carbon inventory assessments, product carbon-footprint accounting, and lightweight design, reducing resource consumption across the industrial chain. Through a combination of on-site photovoltaic installations, green electricity procurement, and carbon offset measures, the company ultimately achieved the goal of a zero-carbon factory.
This innovative practice not only highlights its exemplary role in green manufacturing, but also provides a replicable and scalable solution for the sustainable development of the construction machinery industry.
