SRIBS held the drafting meeting for the two CECS standards.

Recently, the first working meeting of the compilation group for the China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization (CECS), "Energy Efficiency Testing Methods for Tower Cranes" and "Anti-fall Safety Device for Special Construction Lifts" was held at the Jinshan base of SRIBS. The meeting was attended by Wang Jingxian, Secretary-General of the Committee of Inspection & Test of CECS, and Wang Zixiao, Secretary of the committee. Senior Chief Engineer of SRIBS, Chen Aihua, Director of the SRIBS Mechanical Institute, Han Wenhe, along with nearly 20 representatives from the Mechanical Institute's leadership team and co-compiling units, were present. The meeting was conducted in a hybrid format, both online and offline, and was chaired by Wang Yunfei, Chief Engineer of the Mechanical Institute.

Chen Aihua, on behalf of the lead drafting unit, delivered a speech warmly welcoming the leaders of the committee and the representatives of the participating units, while expressing heartfelt gratitude for their support. She emphasized her hope to collaborate with the association, the drafting group, and various industry stakeholders to jointly promote the development, implementation, and dissemination of the standards. Wang Jingxian announced the list of lead drafting units, participating units, and key members of the drafting group, and outlined the requirements for standard compilation.

The two standards are led by SRIBS, with contributions from multiple units, including the China Construction Machinery Test Center (CCMTC), Kunshan Construction Engineering Quality Testing Center, China Construction Eighth Engineering Division. Corp. LTD, Shanghai Construction Group and Xuzhou Construction Machinery Co., Ltd

"Energy Efficiency Testing Methods for Tower Cranes"

There is a significant disparity in energy utilization rates among different types of construction lifting machinery in China. Due to the lack of relevant energy efficiency testing standards, manufacturers and users pay little attention to this issue, and the absence of effective benchmarks leads to inadequate regulatory oversight. This has resulted in construction lifting machinery operating at low efficiency and high energy consumption for an extended period, imposing a substantial environmental burden. The development of this standard aims to raise awareness of energy consumption in construction lifting machinery and drive improvements in industry energy efficiency.

"Anti-fall Safety Device for Special Construction Lifts"

The anti-fall safety device is the final safety safeguard for construction hoists. The national standard GB/T 34025-2017, Progressive Anti-fall Safety Devices for Construction Hoists, regulates its design, manufacturing, testing, and safe use in China. Over the past five years, new types of hoists and usage scenarios have raised higher performance requirements for safety devices. However, the lack of updated standards has hindered technical validation and testing of new safety products, leading to irregular industry development and potential safety risks. This standard aims to guide advanced technologies, restrict outdated ones, and meet current industry and market demands domestically and internationally.
